What I used to do at Halloween

When I was a child, I didn't use to celebrate Halloween because my mum didn't like it. Now, I celebrate Halloween although my mum still doesn't like it. Instead of celebrating Halloween, we used to celebrate "La Castañada". My mum used to buy sweets chestnuts. Now, we don't celebrate it because I meet my friends and go out. We watch scary films and play computer games now and again.

Description of a place

I live in a small town in the north-east of Spain. It has changed a lot over the years.
In the past the town was much smaller than now. There used to be two cinemas and discos for the young people. Now there are a lot of candy shops.
People used to work in the farming or in factories. But now the factories are all closed so the people work in shops like shops assistants or they are the boss. People work like fishers too.
People used to travel by car but not all the people had one so they wnet on foot. The station is still there but nowadays it's more modern. These days there are lots of cycle lanes. The town is very different at the moment. It's bigger and more modern and I love it!

What I'd take to a desert island

Have you ever thought about which one thing you’d take to a desert and uninhabited island? Well, I’d take my motorbike. Obviously, I’d take my family and friends too.

My motorbike is nearly new because I bought it in August. It’s white, black and green. Do you like the combination? I love it! It’s made by Rieju, a Spanish motorbike company which have a lot of history in the world of motorbikes.

It’s fairly important to me because it was a gift from my parents when I got high marks in my studies last year. I love it because I have the freedom to go where I want and whenever I want and my mum doesn’t have to take me everywhere.

In conclusion, my motorbike is the thing without which I can’t survive as much on a desert island as in my town. I recommend you to buy are and tell me what you feel when you are riding it.

Dear Ms Brookes,

Thank you very much for the letter. I look forward to going to the college. I would like to go to England because I want to study a lot of English and I have never been to UK.

Now, I am going to answer your questions. Although staying with a family in a house in the suburbs may be good, I prefer to stay with a family in an apartment in the city centre because I can go sightseeing and visit the historic centre. I would like  to go to watch a football match because I am a big fan of sports. I want to buy some new clothes too. In addiction, I would like to visit London or Liverpool because I saw some photographs and they are beautiful cities. It is not necessary that the family meet me at the airport because I want to buy some presents for them and I would like it to be a surprise.

ATP World Tour Finals

The ATP World Tour Finals is a professional tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts and is held annually in November at the O2 Arena in London, UK. The ATP World Finals are the season-ending championships of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour, featuring the top eight singles players and doubles teams of the ATP Rankings. The player who has gained more times this tournament is Roger Federer. However, now Novak Djokovic is the current champion. The double team who have gained more times this tournament are Peter Fleming and John McEnroe. Although at the moment, Fernando Verdasco and David Marreno are the currents champions.

Money is the most important thing right now in this capitalist society but in the past it wasn’t so. People negotiated with meat, fish, vegetables and so on. However, now we use the money but there isn’t much.

On one hand, many people don’t have it so a lot of families say:” I’m a bit short of money this month or It’s sometimes hard to make ends meet”. Also they have to pay debts so they must put their money where their mouth is.

On the other hand, there are a lot of rich people who have got money to burn.

My friend Jack is very tall. He's got short, black hair and blue eyes. He dresses very casually, but he wears smart clothes now and again. He's got a red jumper which is espectacular. He's really vain.
He's mad about playing football. He's very good, although I know a person who is better than him. He's a big fan of F.C.Barcelona. However, his favourite player plays in the Manchester United. He loves going to a gig and having friends rounds. He's very sociable.
He's fairly outgoing, so he loves having a lot of friends. However, he only has three close friends. He can't stand dishonest and unreliable people. Although he's absolutely brilliant at studying and doing his homework.

I hope you’re well. I just read that the Mystery Jets are playing next week in Barcelona. I want to see them because they have very good music. Would you like to come with me?

They are playing on the 25^th and the 26^th. I prefer to go the 26^th because it's Saturday and the next day I don’t have to go to school. Can you go that day? I hope so. We need to get the tickets quickly because people are buying them very fast. I'll book the tickets when you confirm me if you can go. One ticket costs 12.50$. The gig starts at 9.p.m. We should be there at 8 p.m. It finish is going to end late so why don’t we spend the night in a hotel and go back home the next day? I think that’s a good idea. What do you think?
